Tidy The TBR - Monthly Reckoning
Hellooo!
Life Outside the Blog
Despite all the storms thrown at Liverpool it was not a bad month. Well a little bit of new normality; at least one trip to the office a week; the project that never ends continues and I passed an exam! I also managed a week off and have reached Week 8 in my second round of Couch to 5K this time focusing on stamina not speed So next week I should be finished then the hard work begins, I even managed an online event with the British Fantasy’s Golden Jubilee with some fine panels and readings. Very glad to see this new focus on more events throughout the year,. We have booked the holiday and in August Venice awaits plus a beach!
Blog life
Its been consistent which is what I’m trying to focus on this year. The big event has been getting Subjective Chaos 2022 up and running and this year’s nominees look interesting and varied. I felt a spoons dip before my holiday but the break has done well and I hop e to catch up with the last few from Feb over the coming weeks.
Tidy The TBR
Perhaps as a short month not that productive although I did read all the Subjective Chaos nominees so that kept me occupied and makes this higher than normal!
Total Books now read - 47 (28)
ARCS - 28 (18)
TBR Pile - 19 (10)
Tidy the TBR and Twelve challenges need a jump up next month. I read We Have Already Lived in the Castle and annoyingly it felt a little too obvious I tried to be unspoiled but I knew too much and I think that impacted the reading experience.
Runalong Off The Shelves
TV - The Elementary rewatch has moved to season 5 and I have this niggle the show may be running out of fuel. The stories feel more zany than in the past and something is missing. Going to see if we cna finish this up for April. Otherwise bar Stanley Tucci Searching for Italy (super relaxing Italian food) its been quiet this year.
Films - saw Death on the Nile which was fine as a Sunday afternoon cinema trip that felt very stagey and was a nice distraction from a crazy couple of years. Who knew we would get Hercule Poirot’s origin story in it!
Podcasts - Shout out to Fiction Fans and SFF addicts who have really interesting book focused discussions and in particular SFF has been hosting some author panels which I really enjoyed!
