TBR catch ups - March Past April Future

Hellooo! Fashionably late so let’s do the past and the future together – its’s timey wimey

So March was indeed a month lets just say things happened the way I predicted and that means a mess needs cleaning up and I’m on the clean-up crew. Should be a busy few months! This may mean I’m quieter on twitter during the day but I’m still alive and very much will return when I can do so. The blog though will be as busy as always as I need it to stay sane! Hopefully I can resume Advance Booktempting soon!

Reading wise I’ve been a little focused on ARCs (march was a busy month) while April slows down so I intend to get back on SCKA very soon! In March I rediscovered a love of some graphic Marvels so Ms Marvel and Captain Marvel helped the TBR shelves get reduced

I did finish Couch Potato to 5k for second time and now really need to remember to consolidate some thirty-minute runs to make this a habit! Starting later today slight difference in approach this time was using podcasts

Tidy The TBR for March

Total Books now read – 73 (48)

ARCS – 39 (28)

TBR – 34 (19)

So a better mix and one I’ll try and keep on top of. The good news is my reading speed is pretty normal which does mean I’m not that stressed despite the busy work! I suspect no daily commutes of three extra hours a day helps that recovery time! Working From Home for the Win

Runalong Off the Shelves

TV

Elementary – sadly Season 5 isn’t keeping our attention it feels a little lighter and more like looking for a kooky crime scene than a mystery I hope that soon improves!

Reacher – as was slightly intrigued watched the first episode and it bizarrely works as an interesting mystery and plot. I shall try episode 2 soon

Killing Eve – tried two of the new episodes and again a show that seems not to know what to do with itself. Will finish eventually

April Challenges

So for the first challenge it is the reminder that in our TBRs there are books by new authors. The ones we heard were good, the cover captured our eyes or accidentally fell in to our hands in the book shop. The lie in TBRs like treasure chest – who knows this could be your new favourite book, the best new author who clicks with you – its all about potential. So pick in your TBR a book by a completely new author. For me its Our Child of the Stars by Stephen Cox – it sounded up my street; he seems a very cool guy on twitter and I also have the sequel Our Children of Two Worlds to read. There is a Bank Holiday weekend coming soon – I can see what I’m doing for that and sounds perfect.

The stretch goal is to finish a series by end of the year (or this month if you feel ambitious) and for this I’ve two

Get up to speed on the Green Men Book by Juliet E McKenna – Book 2 has been staring at me for ages.

Read the entire Priest of Bones series by Peter McLean – I’ve bought all of these when they came out and never quite get time to read them. I hear they’re fab and last book is out this year. I think I can finally focus on this and again a very cool author and a lovely human being to boot!
