The Week in Womble aka Running to stay still

Helloooo! Ever feel you’re running to stay still? Been that kind of a week – the chest infection is still hovering around and clashed with work getting quite busy. By Friday I’m wiped out and early nights are the default. A lovely weekend with Italian Tapas improved the situation but not quite where I wanted to be this week

What have I been watching?

Farscape Season 2 – Yep still unimpressed with season two after My Three Crichtons

Battlestar Galactica – Pilot Part 2 – and caught up with eh second part of the pilot that manages to punch the air and show humanity as quite flawed and desperate. Be interesting to see how I find this so many years later.

Robin of Sherwood – Season 1 – have finished the first year. It fun; lovely soundtrack and reminds me of summer in the 80’s but wow the outlaws and sheriff’s men have the most stupid plans. I get the impression everyone is larking around. But loved the season finale where Richard the Lionheart is revealed to be a creep.

Blake’s 7 – Watched episodes 7, 8 and 9 of season 1 and a bit like Sherwood it feels very much larking about in woods and caves. As with Sherwood charismatic actors do their best they can but its very sedate at times. That’s how TV was but it’s a fascinating way to see how it changed

What have I been listening to?

I’ve now started Season 2 of The Magnus Archives and the show moves from linked horror to a bit more of an audio drama format too as the cast widens. Up to episode 46. I can do this!!

So what have I been reading and reviewing?

Runalong Readalongs

Discworld – Equal Rites – review to come it’s a really important step in Discworld but doesn’t work quite as well as a novel in own right (wait for the review Monday)

Vorkosigan – I’ve started Shards of Honour but this is where the week went awry. Will see if I can catch up tomorrow (it’s short) but Assassin’s Apprentice awaits too. A quandary

Next week –Discworld looks at Mort
