Shout Outs - Lending A Hand Part Week 2
Hi all!!! Well in the words of Dr Banner this all seems terrible. I shall tell you more about that in the long delayed Week in Womble (no more excuses not doing that regularly!!). But in times like this authors, publishers, shops and well everyone is being impacted in some way. If you’d like to talk about your project or book then contact me on the blog! The contact form is in the menu!
The Important Stuff Book shopping
Amazon appears to be de-prioritising books but lets remember some other ways to get your hands on a lovely story.
One of my favourite indie publishers is Fox Spirit - their catalogue is fantastic and you’ll recognise some major names have written for them. The lovely Aunty Fox aka Sulk Supreme is running an offer using the voucher code ‘cabinfever’ and they even have a shop you can buy directly from https://www.foxspirit.co.uk/shop/
If you’d like to use an indepdent bookseller (and they need you too) then get a delivery fro your local which you can find via https://www.hive.co.uk/
Stacey’s Bookworm Challenge
Podcast Stacey’s Parlour is doing a Bookworm challenge for Birmingham Community Healthcare Charity - a charity that helps families and carers as well as bringing smiles to patients through books all the way up to creating a therapeutic playground for children with prosthetic limbs. Stacey Taylor is trying to read as many books as possible in a month (how could I not approve of that!!). Please donate via https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bookwormstace
New Releases
With all the news its easy not to notice books coming out but two on my watch out list are
2000AD - The Judges - The Patriots - the lovely Joseph Elliot Coleman has released a short prose novella that gives us a new adventure in Megacity One
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 2047 A.D.
There’s a new threat on the streets of America. Driven by radical dogma and fired by their hatred of the Judges, they’re somehow able to turn ordinary citizens into enraged killers. And they have the gall to call themselves ‘The Patriots.’
Judges Charlotte Clarkson and Niamh Douglas are assigned to the case: track the radicals to their source and uproot them...
The author Nikki Smith has her debut coming out on 2 April - sadly both launch & related events have been cancelled. It’s called All In Her Head, a timely psychological suspense novel about the darkest corners of a mother’s mind. Find out more at https://www.hive.co.uk/Product/Nikki-Smith/All-in-Her-Head/24616947
