TBR Update - August Challenges and July Review
Hellooo!!
Yes late but I’ve had a holiday so this month’s update will be a quick one and to be honest July was a bit of a blur. We became a Covid household and I’m still not sure how I missed getting it. My one of two major projects had massive deadline to hit and all the usual stresses and then on top of that I got put at risk of redundancy (happily no longer). Reading time and time for anything else was very much reduced. I was also running through Subjective Chaos and Hugo categories. Pleased to say next month’s update will be a lot less busy!
So how did reading go?
I’ve now got through 150 books
ARCS - 79 (70)
TBR - 71 (61)
The end of SCKA Judging rounds should give me a lot of time back (although there are a few nomination lists I’d like to read for other awards now!
Lets move onto the TBR Challenges
August - trying to be relaxed this was Pick a Book that takes you away to another place. For this one I’ve selected Summer Water by Sarah Moss (which I picked up in 2020) and this story about a Scottish cabin park with endless rain sounds right up my street
Then for a stretch goal a book with Gods in. For this one I release from TBR a book I tried when I suspect I was too young - Mythago Wood by Robert Holdstock. It sounds very much the type of fantasy I now read with a blur of old myths and the current world so lets see what happens!
