The July TBR Challenge and TBR Update

Hellooo!

June was a weird month filled with ups and downs. Work finally seemed to be settling down and I’ve had the last few weeks a bit more time to balance things out. I even watched some TV! And then I had my diabetes review. My blood score was a bit alarming and surprised me in a very bad way. Now nothing is yet to give up on but some changes were fairly swiftly implemented and things are early days hopefully going in the right direction.

This may explain why my concentration level is so rubbish at the moment plus heat, getting a crown fitted to a tooth and so many many late trains. The bright side is that at this mid-year pause I can see things to do and most important of all feel like I’m getting the energy and support to do them. A busy but useful summer awaits.

Now onto the challenges

How is my TBR doing?

TBR Pile - 56

ARC 65

There were quite a few ARCs out last month and various tours kept me on my toes. With holidays that will reduce a little over coming months but overall good progress

Now the challenges

July tends to be Julius Ceaser rrelated so in his honour

In an ongoing tribute toJulius pick a tale of intrigue and scheming

Going out side of my usual genres this will be Slow Horses by Mick Herron for spies and the seedier side of their business.

and for a stretch goal

Pick a book with a summer theme

As its a time for nature and life I’m choosing Vesper Flights by Helen Macdonald for a look at wildlife in a series of interesting essays.
