The Week in Womble aka Where did my week go?
Helloooooo!
I left you last week saying progress was made. Reader on Monday many people changed their mind and this week was basically me changing everything at the last minute. For added fun next door got their roof rebuilt so I was a tad drained Friday night. Reading for next week has been hit but hopefully I will have a few things to tempt you with.
Things I listened to
It was that bad.. let us not go there
What I’ve Been Watching
Wandavision – Episode 4 as I suspected moved from sitcom to SF with return to familiar faces and the story went both bigger and answered a few suspicions. Great fun!
What Have I been Reading and Reviewing?
The Forever Sea by Joshua Phillip Johnson – In some ways the lyrical and inventive storytelling reminds me of RJ Barker’s The Bone Ships but this tale of ships that sail on a five mile sea of grass is a very different beast but a glorious one (review next week its out 26/1 and an interview with Joshua is a coming)
Relics Wrecks & Ruins edited by Aiki Flinthart – a hugely impressive anthology now out that includes Neil Gaiman, Ken Liu, Garth Nix, Angela Slatter, Jasper Fforde, James SA Corey and many more
Fable by Adrienne Young - a twisty modern gothic tale that features a haunted hospital. Lot of fun.
Fable by Adrienne Young – a YA author who has impressed me moves into a nautical fantasy tale that was very much a can’t put down kind of read
Riot Baby by Tochi Onyebuchi - so so impressed with this tale of super-powered siblings and so so much more!
What am in Going to Read?
Bit to finish up
Made To Order – Robots and Revolutions edited by Jonathan Strahan – with stories from Brooke Bolander, Ken Liu, Sarah Pinsker and more looking at our artificial intelligent friends. One of my long standing TBR to clearbut so far so good
The Salvage Crew by Yudhanjaya Wijerante – a space salvage mission goes terribly wrong! So farreidning me of Murderbot meets the Martian
Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse – Very much looking getting sucked into this tale of gods, magic and intrigue
And so much more!! Good luck for the future – we will get there. See you in a week!
